Q4…? How Can it be?

October, 2020

While the breadth of this year’s events has deemed 2020 a long year, it’s also hard to believe the Q4 is upon us and the holidays are right around the corner. For many lucky kids, Halloween will go on this weekend, kicking off a season of occasions to stop, reflect and enjoy.

We have been impressed how many of our clients are succeeding in during the pandemic, having pivoted their businesses to create a safe environment that works for guests, and also saddened by multiple factors that have led to other clients having no choice but to close their doors.  The only certainty right now is uncertainty, but our team is encouraged by an uptick in projects starting since the quarter began, and a continued push forward by many.

October has brought opportunities for our team to give back to community groups that we support.  We had a crew participate in the 10th annual Million Meal Movement, packing over 10,000 meals for Indy’s hungry!  We also sponsored Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana’s Main Event and participated in Teenworks Annual Futures Breakfast virtually.  Now, more than ever, it’s important to give back, as so many are struggling during these unprecedented times.

Our projects below can be viewed on our facebook page. As always, if you’re interested in talking further about our work or a potential project, please contact Lauren Kriner!  Happy Halloween- be safe & enjoy!

CAP CENTER LOBBY & PATIO- Indianapolis, IN- 15,000 Sq. Ft.

Nearly a year in the making, the lobby and patio of downtown Indy’s Capital Center has received a HUGE facelift! Completing this 15,000 square foot project during a pandemic provided some extra excitement, but the outcome was worth the wait! All new flooring, lighting, custom steel features, a beautiful lounge and new building entrance with amazing outdoor space is now available for the tenants and guests of Cap Center! Internationally-based Stantec designed these amazing improvements for the Landlord, Zeller. Photos courtesy of ProNoun Creative.

STARBUCKS- Peoria, IL- 934 Sq. Ft.

Is this the future of coffee? Just may be! Our ground up and Starbucks teams recently completed a 934 square foot drive-thru only Starbucks in Peoria, IL! This cafe was developed by Indianapolis-based Veritas Realty and was designed by Chicago-based DXU. The cafe sits in a hot spot just off Interstate 74 and will be ideal to serve guests quickly from their cars!

KATZ KORIN CUNNINGHAM, Indianapolis, IN- 37,500 Sq. Ft.

The expansion and remodel of downtown Indy’s Katz Korin Cunningham law firm is now complete! Their three-story, 37, 500 square foot firm, now occupies the combination of three 100-year old former apartment buildings off Senate Ave. Capitol completed the expansion and open remodel in three phases, starting in late 2019 and continuing during the pandemic, which included adding a sky bridge on the third floor to connect the buildings. It was a pleasure to work with this group and Schott Design on creating exciting changes!

LAKE POINTE IV TENANT LOUNGE- Indianapolis, IN- 1,200 Sq. Ft.

We can dream of gathering in cool spaces like this again sometime! The tenant lounges are a great addition to many office buildings, offering areas to de-stress, hang out, and collaborate in new ways. This 1,200 SF lounge in M & J Wilkow’s Lake Pointe IV on Indy’s northeast side, provides just that. Creatively designed by Schott, the space features natural light, great seating, areas to eat or play!

COMER NOWLING, Indianapolis, IN- 9,400 Sq. Ft

It was a pleasure to relocate the 20-year old CPA firm, Comer Nowling, to a new 9,400 square foot office in Crosspoint on Indy’s Northeast side.  Their new office move, designed by Indy-based Parallel Design Group, was managed by Colliers local project management team.  An environment of mostly private offices works great in a pandemic, but there are also new areas for collaboration when it’s called for!

MARQUETTE SENIOR LIVING- Indianapolis, IN- 4,100 Sq. Ft

Our team has completed another phase of improvements within Indy’s Marquette Senior Living! We have now renovated ten resident rooms, all with private bathrooms, on the second floor of the Health Center which encompasses 4,100 SF. Under the direction of Indianapolis’ Jones Lang LaSalle Project Development Services team, Capitol has been working onsite full-time at Marquette for almost two years!
