| May has been a fast-paced month filled with some of our favorite traditions, industry events, and time together as a team. This month, we ventured to Las Vegas for ICSC, the world’s largest commercial real estate event, where we connected with industry partners, explored exciting retail growth, and continued building relationships. Back home in Indiana, we embraced race month the best way we know how. From time spent at the track, to enjoying the energy May brings to Indianapolis, it’s one of our favorite times of the year to come together and be part of a community that fuels it all. As we head into June, we’re looking forward to the official start of summer and carrying the momentum into the rest of Q2! PayMore – Avon, IN – 1,470 Sq. Ft.Tenant Improvement Our team recently completed a 1,470 SF build-out for PayMore Stores in Avon, IN, which has now officially opened its doors! This marks our third location with the PayMore team, and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with them on future projects ahead. This project is a great example of collaboration from start to finish, and we’re proud to see it come to life! 
Caliber Collision – Denham Springs, LA – 14,700 Sq. Ft.Ground-Up Construction Repeat clients are the best, and we’re always honored when they bring us along for projects across the country. Our Chicago team recently collabroated with Caliber Collision on their new Denham Spings, LA location alongside Oxford Architecture, delivering another successful project built on trust, collaboration, and strong partnerships. 
CAVA – Crystal Lake, IL – 2,400 Sq. Ft.Tenant Improvement The CAVA craze is real, and our Chicago team is seeing it firsthand, as we recently wrapped up our second Chicagoland location for this beloved brand. We had the opportunity to partner with Chipman Design Architecture on this project and are gearing up to begin another location in Madison, WI next month. We are excited to keep the momentum going as the brand continues to grow! |

DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. (DMA) – Indianapolis, IN90,609 Sq. Ft.Tenant Improvement Exciting progress is underway at DMA’s new Indianapolis office at Keystone at the Crossing! Our team is currently completing the interior buildout, and it’s exciting to watch this refreshed space begin to take shape. We’re looking forward to bringing this vision to life and seeing the finished product come together within the upcoming months. Stay tuned for the completed project! 
Spring Safety Training UpdatesOur team recently held our Spring Equipment Training & Certification session at a local project site, providing hands-on training for new employees and refresher courses for field leadership. The training was conducted by Safety Resources, Inc. and included certification instruction for scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts At Capitol, safety remains a top priority for our team both on and off the jobsite. 
ICSC Las Vegas RecapICSC Las Vegas was a fast-paced few days filled with great conversations, new connections, and plenty of energy from across the retail and commercial real estate industry. Our team spent time on the show floor meeting with retail brands exploring Midwest expansion, reconnecting with industry partners, and getting a clear pulse on where the market is headed next. We’re excited to see continued retail growth and the new players heading to the Midwest in 2026 and beyond! 
Looking Ahead: Leadership Transition within CapitolAfter more than 13 dedicated years with Capitol Construction, Lauren Hughes is retiring and closing an important chapter with the company. Throughout her time here, Lauren has played a key role in building strong client relationships, supporting project success, and contributing to the steady growth of our business as Vice President of Business Development. Her impact will be felt well beyond her time in the office, and we are grateful for the dedication and consistency she brought to the team. As Lauren Hughes steps into retirement, Lauren Czaja will be stepping into the role of Vice President of Business Development and is excited to continue building on the foundation that’s been established. She looks forward to working closely with our clients and partners, strengthening existing relationships, and supporting continued growth across the Midwest and beyond. |
