March is Madness!

March, 2024

What an exciting month March is for our hometown of Indy.  Our City hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament and cheered our only IN school, Purdue, on to the sweet 16!  Several of our team members also hosted clients at a fun annual tradition to kick off March Madness, called Beefsteak, at Huse Culinary locations, one of our growing client)!

March is Women in History Month, and we featured some of the amazing women on our team, who are paving the way for others in the male-dominated world of construction.  It is evident that having females at the table and involved in project leadership adds a much-needed “touch” to the process. Capitol sponsored and hosted some of our property management client’s at the CREW Network’s Women in Leadership Conference as well- a day of inspiration and networking.

We also celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new 38,000 square foot Dellen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership that we build in Greenfield, IN.  Owner, Nick Dellen, welcomed guests and the City to the new building, and we just started demolishing the old dealership next door last week.

For those of you on, or about to have Spring Break, enjoy and be safe! Also wishing a very Happy Easter weekend ahead for those who celebrate.

STARBUCKS- Newburgh, IN- 2,100 Sq. Ft.

Although our team builds A LOT of Starbucks around the Midwest, every project has nuances that keeps the process exciting! The Evansville, IN suburb of Newburgh now has a new cafe open with convenient access to I-69. The 2,100 SF drive-thru location was built for Indy-based developer Veritas Realty and was designed by OH-based WD Partners, as a turn-key project. The City is excited to have another cafe for residents and visitors alike.  We also completed another new Starbucks in the south Indy suburb of Greenwood earlier this month.

RADIANT SKIN- Zionsvile, IN- 2,800 Sq. Ft.

Radiant Skin wanted to combine aesthetics, beauty, and wellness to create a 360-degree approach to anti-aging.  With the completion of their remodel and expansion, the med spa was able to add six more employees and an expanded menu of services, right in quaint the Village of Zionsville. Capitol worked closely with the owners to phase the project and keep them operating during construction. The serene setting and additional offerings is delightful to the Radiant team and their guests! We have really enjoyed working in the Town, this being our fourth project in the last few years.

ALDI- Lombard, IL- 22,900 Sq. Ft.

The need for quality food at affordable prices continues to grow. Our Chicago team just completed a new ALDI grocery in the suburb of Lombard. The 22,900 square foot store was designed by national firm APD Engineering & Architecture and is stocked with fresh food to offer the neighboring community. Our team has now completed four projects for Aldi in Chicagoland and looks forward to a continued relationship with the growing brand.

THE CHILD’S PLACE- Indianapolis, IN- 6,700 Sq. Ft.

The need for affordable childcare continues to grow, and our team continues to do a lot of work in the childcare space. We recently completed a 6,700 square foot conversion of a former non-profit office to The Child’s Place on Indianapolis’ Eastside. PHÄNOMEN Design worked with the landlord Cornerstone Companies and Child’s Place to create a new space for the children they serve to enjoy for years to come!

ROSIE’S GARDENS- Carmel, IN- 6,600 Sq. Ft.

Our friends at Rosie’s Gardens in Carmel, IN are preparing for another big season, with the addition of a new storage barn and office, and the replacement of their 5,000 square foot shop forthcoming! Fun fact: our co-owner Kevin Schott worked for this family-owned business in high school, before coming to join our team. He is having a blast with life coming full circle, helping Rosie’s accommodate their growth. The team worked with locally-based PAD Architecture on the project.
