July has definitely brought the heat, but it hasn’t slowed us down! Across all three Capitol offices, we’ve stayed busy with a mix of tenant improvement, restaurant, and ground up projects, while also celebrating several exciting grand openings for our clients. It’s been a month full of progress, partnerships, and bringing new spaces to life.
As we head toward the end of summer, we’re looking forward to attending Retail Live! Nashville on August 27. This one-day event brings together retailers, brokers, developers, landlords, and industry partners for networking, educational sessions, and conversations with brands actively expanding throughout the region.

Protein Bar & Kitchen – Indianapolis, IN – 2,224 Sq. Ft.
Restaurant
Protein is power and this space is built to fuel it! Congratulations to Protein Bar & Kitchen on the official grand opening at 6 W. Washington Street! From protein-packed smoothies and wraps to fresh bowls and salads, this new space is ready to serve up fast, feel-good food in the heart of the city. We’re excited to have helped bring this location to life and can’t wait for it to be a go to spot for all of Downtown Indy!
Stick & Hack – Westfield, IN – 33,000 Sq. Ft.
Tenant Improvement
The talk of Westfield is just getting started! We’re excited to partner with Stick & Hack as they continue to build out Westfield’s ultimate social playground. While there’s still more to come, it’s already become a destination that’s generating plenty of buzz throughout the community. The finished space will be complete with golf and racing simulators, social darts, bocce ball, Lucky Putt, and ping pong, offering something for everyone to unwind, connect, and have a little fun.
FARE – Chicago, IL – 1,800 Sq. Ft.

It’s fair to say we’re thrilled to celebrate FARE Scratch Kitchen’s 10th grand opening! Their newest location at 614 W. Diversey Pkwy is open and ready to serve up the best of their seasonal favorites. Working with MAI Architects and the FARE team never gets old, and we’re grateful to have played a part in bringing another one of their locations to life. Congrats to the entire FARE team on this exciting milestone!
Caliber Collision – Blue Island, IL – 13,081 Sq. Ft.

The temperatures may have been climbing, but progress hasn’t slowed down on the new 13,081 SF ground up Caliber Collision in Blue Island. We’re excited to continue our partnership with this valued repeat client as we move one step closer to opening day!
Starbucks – Crawfordsville, IN – 2,000 Sq. Ft.
Ground Up Construction
Looking good on the outside, putting in work on the inside! It’s plain to see this future Starbucks in Crawfordsville is starting to take shape. The exterior is nearly ready for its close-up, while the interior is busy transforming into the coffee shop the community will soon know and love. More updates (and coffee) to come!
Sushi UNI – Plainfield, IL – 4,000 Sq. Ft.

After months of anticipation from the Plainfield community, Sushi UNI officially celebrated its grand opening! This new restaurant combines thoughtful design with an inviting dining environment, creating a space that’s as memorable as the menu. Owners I-Shan and Jason poured their passion into bringing Sushi UNI to Plainfield, and their vision is reflected throughout the space. Be sure to stop by and experience this exciting new addition!
Charred Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar – Carmel, IN – 2,023 Sq. Ft.

Charred is now open and welcoming guests at Carmel City Center! Blending the timeless feel of a traditional steakhouse with modern flair, the restaurant offers a quaint, cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for a night out. Everwise Credit Union – Carmel, IN – 11,016 Sq. Ft.

It’s safe to say this recently completed Everwise Credit Union office expansion is a whole vibe. With the help of Schott Design, this refreshed workplace blends hospitality-inspired design with warm finishes, inviting spaces, and plenty of room to connect. Perfect for coffee chats, collaboration, and everything in between.
FNEX – Indianapolis, IN – 1,440 Sq. Ft.

FNEX’s newly expanded suite at Regions Tower is designed for what’s next. Featuring clean lines, modern finishes, and flexible workspaces, the renovated office was designed to support collaboration, innovation, and the company’s continued growth. It’s another great example of how thoughtful workplace design can create an environment where teams can do their best work.
Hertz – Grand Rapids, MI – 90,000 Sq. Ft.

This project is officially cleared for takeoff… and making headlines. We’re excited to see our recently completed Hertz tenant fit-out at Gerald R. Ford International Airport featured in the news! In partnership with Fishbeck Architects, our team delivered the new rental car facility within the airport’s Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC), creating a space that helps travelers hit the road faster.
Compass Cognition – Indianapolis, IN –1,555 Sq. Ft.
Tenant Improvement
Compass Cognition’s new space, delivered in partnership with the Sourwine Real Estate Services team, was thoughtfully designed to support their work providing neuropsychological evaluations for adults. Calming sage green finishes complement the Compass Cognition brand while creating an environment that feels comfortable from the moment you walk through the door.
Wishing Rhonda a Happy Retirement!
This month, we’re saying a bittersweet goodbye to Rhonda Bates as she retires after 14 years with Capitol Construction. As a dedicated Project Accountant, Rhonda was a trusted teammate, a steady presence, and someone her coworkers could always count on. While we’ll certainly miss seeing Rhonda around the office, we’re excited for her as she begins this next chapter. Thank you for 14 years of dedication, friendship, and all you’ve done for Capitol. Cheers to your retirement era, Rhonda!
