Doing a Dance or Riding a Rollercoaster?

July, 2020

Do any of you feel like you’re doing a dance these days? Perhaps one step forward, one back? Two steps forward, one step back, or the reverse?  Or are you bracing yourself as you click up asteep hill in a rollercoaster, ready to fly down the other side? Then maybe realize it wasn’t as scary as you thought it would be, maybe fun at times?  Those seem to be some of the emotions we are experiencing during these “crazy” times.  Some days are dances, some are roller coaster rides.  Is it going to get better or worse?  No one knows, but we are all doing our best to navigate what it is!

What we remain is grateful.  Grateful that we have a team who has been putting forth their best effort to finish up projects, while keeping themselves, our subs and client spaces safe.  We are grateful that people are giving more grace in working through some unknowns and challenges we are all rookies at navigating.  We remain grateful to have amazing clients who trust us to bring their projects to life.  Below are a few of those projects that have wrapped up recently, showing the variety of our capabilities!

Additional photos of this month’s featured projects can be viewed on our facebook page. As always, if you’re interested in talking further about our work or a potential project, please contact Lauren Kriner!  Be safe and enjoy the “dog days of summer”!

FLEXWARE INNOVATION- Fishers, IN- 30,000 Sq. Ft.

Have you seen the stunning new fixture on Municipal Drive in Fishers? That’s the Flexware Innovation Headquarters, a 30K square foot, 3-story building with onsite parking for the growing IT engineering firm that relocated from down the street. Flexware worked with the City of Fishers to reinvest in the City with their new HQ, creating a win-win. Curran Architecture designed the building with Parallel Design Group on point for the interiors. We could not be happier with how this project turned out, working with a great team and the amazing “flexdogs” at Flexware! Congrats!

UNION CHAPEL SELF STORAGE, Noblesville, IN-60,000 Sq. Ft.

Now that we have wrapped up Union Chapel Self Storage, Union Chapel Crossing is complete! The master planned, 16-acre development by Revel & Underwood, consists of the 60K SF Self Storage- designed by Peterson Architects The Goddard School of Noblesville and Union Chapel Offices- designed by Leech-Hensley Architects. HWC Engineering was the civil engineer for the site. What a beautiful addition to the community of Noblesville!

EMERSON RETAIL SHOPPES- Indianapolis, IN- 5,600 Sq. Ft

Capitol enjoyed completing our second ground-up project for Detroit-based developer, Alrig USA this summer. The 5,600 square foot Emerson Retail Shoppes is now complete at County Line & Emerson Road in Indianapolis. Starbucks is now open, while AT & T and Great Clips will open soon. Capitol also completed the interior buildouts for Starbucks and AT&T. It was a pleasure to do repeat work for this growing development group!

ANDY’S FROZEN CUSTARD, Schaumburg, Il- 2,497 Sq. Ft.

What tastes better on a warm summer day during a pandemic? Something cold and sweet, of course! Andy’s Frozen Custard is now open in Schaumburg, IL! Capitol’s Chicago team built this ground-up 2,497 sq. ft. restaurant that features a drive-through and outside seating. Missouri-based Esterly, Schneider & Associates designed the Andy’s building.

Indianapolis, IN- 3,000 Sq. Ft

The need for quality senior living is in high demand and under many pressures these days! We are proud of our work with Indianapolis’ Marquette Manor through JLL’s local PDS team. Capitol has been completing interior remodels on the Marquette campus for the last year, but we just finished a 3,000 square foot addition to the Health Center, providing a new entrance and administrative offices. The project included some demo, sitework, building addition and landscaping. Atlanta-based THW Design has been working with the team on the Marquette improvements. Check out the timelapse video!

STARBUCKS, Indianapolis, IN- 2,400 Sq. Ft

Now serving the best coffee, refreshing drinks and goodies, Starbucks at County Line & Emerson on Indy’s southside is open with a drive-thru! Our Starbucks team just completed the new 2,400 square foot cafe, a part of the Emerson Retail Shoppes that our ground-up team built for Detroit-based Alrig USA. The new cafe was designed by Michigan-based Design Forum. We are fortunate that our friends at Starbucks continue to grow at this time!

Capitol’s Tennessee team recently completed common area remodel of the lobby, corridors and restrooms for The RMR Group’s Parklane Office Building in Brentwood, TN.  Many office parks continue to undergo renovations to these elements of their buildings, keeping them fresh and inviting for attracting and retaining tenants.  Nashville-based ASD|Sky designed the new finishes for RMR.
