The holiday weekend is nearly upon us, and we have been enduring sweltering heats as summer is quickly coming to a close. We’ve had a fun month of golf outings, several events, and the retail convention SPECS in the D.C. area. While the face of physical retail is undergoing some modifications, we are happy to report that activity is picking up tremendously, and the design teams are busy producing plans for 2022! An important theme that we’re seeing more than ever is the need for strong communication, which has always been our priority. Architects are getting contractors involved earlier in the process to collaborate on potentially long lead-time items and help control costs. There was also attention given to the grace period between being awarded a job and being able to commence projects. In order to ensure that a project doesn’t stop and start, sometimes that time in between needs to extend to accommodate the order of materials that are taking longer to get. More photos of our featured projects can be viewed on our facebook page. As always, if you’re interested in talking further about our work or a potential project, please contact Lauren Kriner! Enjoy the remaining dog days of summer! May you and yours be safe & healthy! ROUND ROOM- Fishers, IN- 115,000 Sq. Ft.Our team enjoyed a special afternoon last week celebrating a ribbon cutting with our friends at Round Room! Their headquarters move to a former 200K SF building in Fishers was a journey for them and a labor of love for their team of Cushman and Wakefield, Axis Architecture, Capitol Construction, Business Furniture Choreo, and the City of Fishers, to whom the RR team was so gracious. Round Room’s companies include TCC (The Cellular Connection), Redux, Culture of Good and Wireless Zone, and they operate more than 1,200 Verizon stores in 43 states. Their hearts are even bigger than the building…they generously gave $50,000 to local non-profits that have touched their team, and $500,000 to their new Hamilton Co. Humane Society neighbor! We couldn’t be prouder of the project and being a partner to this amazing company! There are too many great photos to feature, so we picked the most fun- an operable slide taking smiling team members and guest from the second to first floors quickly! FtAfter completing the buildout for the previous tenant, it was exciting to recreate this amazing Fishers endcap at The Depot at Nickel Plate for the new Parks Place Pub team. Parks Place offers a scratch kitchen where the burgers are very popular, 48 televisions to view ANY game, and a beautiful outdoor patio offering live music and a place to enjoy the Fishers scene. The 3,600 SF space was designed by Curran Architecture as well as Meghan James with JLL, and the project was managed by JLL’s PDS team. Welcome to our City, Parks Place! ECHO REALTY- Nashville, TN- 3,200 Sq. Ft.What could be more fun than working on Nashville’s Music Row?! Nothing!! Retail developer/owner/operator Echo Realty’s new 3,200 SF office is wrapped up in their new home on Music Row. Nashville-based Sorci & Swords designed the beautiful space to take advantage of the natural light and views. Job well done by our Nashville office. BROAD-OCEAN MOTORS- Whitestown, IN- 4,400 Sq. Ft.International company Broad-Ocean recently added 4,400 square feet of testing labs to their facility in Whitestown, IN. The motor systems and components firm relocated these labs to the Indy market. We worked with locally based Curran Architecture on the design for this project as well.
