SUNSHINE AFTER THE RAIN

APRIL, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share our April news. We suddenly and tragically lost a member of our team, Bill Briggs, last week. Bill was a Senior Project Manager, who recently completed large projects- the Ollie Building on Rangeline and Cafe Patachou Fishers- and was a beloved member of the Capitol family. Along with the love of his life, Jen, we are mourning his magnetic personality in our office, and he will be greatly missed. You can read about Bill’s life here.

We did celebrate a special birthday this month- Senior Project Manager Bob Moreland turned 80! Bob has been with our team for 12 years, and he is a ray of sunshine to have around. His clients love him.

We also celebrated our amazing administrative teams, that support ALL that we do. We wouldn’t be in our 27th year without them. Speaking of 27, Capitol Construction was proud to be ranked the 15th largest commercial contractor by the Indianapolis Business Journal this year. Our dedication to client delight has led to significant growth over the years.

Lastly, we are grateful for some beautiful projects that wrapped up this month, showcased below. There are exciting projects on the horizon…we look forward to wrapping them up in warmer, sunnier days! 1933 LOUNGE- Carmel, IN – 9,700 Sq. Ft.

There has already been a “little bit” of hype surrounding the new 1933 Lounge in the Carmel Arts & Design District It was our privilege to build again for our repeat client Huse Culinary, this time in the City of Carmel that has long-awaited their arrival. Taking up the majority of the “Ollie Building” first floor, this restaurant has stunned it’s patrons by “upping their game” yet again. THE BEAUTY LOUNGE- Carmel, IN- 2,700 Sq. Ft.

There continues to be a larger focus (as there should be) on self-care, and we couldn’t be more proud to help promote our newest client in that ever-important space, The Beauty Lounge just opened in their new, expanded space along Carmel’s Meridian Street corridor, and Schott Design helped them create a bigger space in which their services shine! Whether you need some tame to your mane, occasion makeup or lashes, The Beauty Lounge is the place for you. KITE AUDITORIUM- Indianapolis, IN – 7.800 Sq. Ft.

As a continuation of Kite’s Conference Center remodel, our team has now wrapped up a 7,800 SF auditorium for the REIT on the 8th floor of their 30 S. Meridian St. office building. With hundreds of employees, investors, and properties around the country, this new space will be put to good use, and has elegance designed by RATIO. This is the icing on the cake to the lobby remodels and Starbucks that we have worked on throughout this building in the past year.

STARBUCKS- Ft. Wayne, IN – 2,500 Sq. Ft.

Busy months call for all of the caffeine! Check out the newest Starbucks in the City of Fort Wayne, IN. The 2,500 square foot cafe, designed by Onyx Creative, opened to a bustling crowd, just off I-69, a hop-skip from the hospital and surrounded by lodging. Our team also completed another Starbucks in West Lafayette, IN, this month, near the Purdue Campus.

SNEAK PEEK

Ed Martin Buick GMC will soon be able to provide even more service, with the addition of 16,000 SF of bays to their building in Carmel. We completed an addition to the building in 2010 and are looking forward to completing yet another project for the Ed Martin Auto Group.

Moyer Fine Jewelers has engaged our team to create two building additions, along both the south and east sides of the building. This will create additional offices as well as an expanded watch gallery!
