April News

Don’t Blink!

April, 2022

Or if you did, you might have missed the month of April! We’re now well into Q2 and there seem to be no signs of slowing down.  Communication remains critical between our team, our design partners, and clients as we navigate this new world of volatile lead times and fluctuations in pricing.  While everyone is adjusting, we are grateful for increased patience from all involved on projects!

Our team has been very busy wrapping up a variety of projects around the country, while we’re making progress between rainstorms on a plethora of ground ups of all sorts.  Several of the features have had big community impact, which makes the outcomes even more rewarding!

Fasten your seatbelts, as time is flying and we’re about to embark on the greatest and fastest month in our hometown of Indy- May!  Also, as many are aware, the construction trades population is aging and several of our teammates have well-deserved retirements on the horizon.  If you know of any young people in your life that are interested in learning more about a rewarding career in construction, please send them our way! If you have questions or are interested in working with our team, please contact Lauren Kriner!

RECOVERY WORKS- Martinsville, IN- 47,000 Sq. Ft.

The nearly 47,000 square foot Recovery Works campus in Martinsville, IN is completed and opened earlier this month. The facility, developed by Obsidian and designed by KY-based C.R. Stone Architects, is operated by addiction-recovery experts Pinnacle Treatment Centers. Recovery Works Martinsville is a 32-bed withdrawal management and residential treatment center. The center offers individual, group and family therapy, meditation and yoga, among other services.  They are also different as an opioid treatment program is offered onsite at the 9+acre-campus.

COHATCH- Zionsville, IN- 11,000 Sq. Ft.

COhatch Zionsville officially opened to the community last Friday, and they are already hosting businesses and individuals in their new 11,000 square foot coworking space in Zionsville, IN. In true COhatch fashion, we converted a former church into an amazing configuration of sizes and spaces, working with Columbus, OH-based Tim Lai Architects again. COhatch Zionsville will also soon welcome North High Brewing Pub as a co-tenant in the building. This is the second project we’ve completed for the growing COhatch team, and we have two more Indy locations and one Ohio spot under construction.

MAPLE STREET BISCUIT- Keller, TX- 3,500 Sq. Ft.

Comfort Food with a Twist! Our travelling team recently completed our second project for Cracker Barrel subsidiary, Maple Street Biscuit. This 3,500 square foot cafe is now open in the Ft. Worth suburb, offering brunch or lunch for dine-in or patio seating. This restaurant was designed by OH-based Macrae Architecture. The Maple Street brand continues to grow and provides food good for the soul!

CHA CONSULTING- Indianapolis, IN- 15,500 Sq. Ft.

Continuing to complete projects in Zeller Realty’s downtown Indy Cap Center is rewarding. Especially when working for others in our industry. Now occupying a floor and a half of the Tower, engineering and CM firm CHA Consulting is working in 15,500 SF of Class A office space. Indy-based Schott Design helped the tenant create the ideal environment, as well as remodeled lobbies and restrooms on two floors.

ETICA GROUP- Indianapolis, IN- 14,800 Sq. Ft.

It’s always flattering to be engaged by another AEC firm for their office buildout, which is why completing the 14,800 SF new HQ for the WBE, Etica Group, was so rewarding. The architecture, engineering, surveying, and construction inspection firm moved into their new space at Zeller’s Castle Creek III this month, and are getting settled into the larger, modern space that they designed. Business Furniture was on point with the new furniture, which complements their brand!

LOVESAC- Whitehall, PA- 2,100 Sq. Ft.

The home furnishing business continues to thrive post pandemic, and retailer Lovesac is still in expansion mode! Our Chicago team completed two Lovesac stores this month, one in Grand Rapids, MI and another in Whitehall, PA.  The stores run around 2,000 square feet and this one was designed by N.J.-based WJCA.  It’s always our goal to do multiple projects with the same client, helping them grow across different parts of the country!

How’s your New Year’s health resolution coming along? There’s still time to get on track and you can do so by popping into the newest Greenleaf Juicing Company at Kite Realty’s Cool Creek in Carmel, IN! The nearly 1,200 square foot juicer, and our third Greenleaf project, is now open and serving up not only fresh-pressed juice, but smoothies, salads and acai bowls. We’ve loved helping this brand grow around Indy and working with Designpoint to bring these spaces to vibrant life! Greenleaf makes the perfect co-tenant for those coming from Orange Theory or Club Pilates within the center.
